CREOKS is a non-profit organization providing behavioral health, medical, wellness and social services. CREOKS is recognized by the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services as a leading provider in the state as a Certified Community Based Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC). CREOKS has over 40 years of experience offering behavioral outpatient health services for adults and youth through robust programming that focuses on whole-person recovery throughout any stage of life, including family and caregiver support. In addition, CREOKS offers Urgent Recovery Clinics (URCs) and Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs) to serve as community-based alternatives to traditional hospital emergency departments or longer-term psychiatric inpatient stays. The goal of this model is to provide stabilization in the least restrictive environment possible.

As a Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC), CREOKS Health Services offers a comprehensive, trauma-informed continuum of care designed to meet the complex needs of children, adolescents, adults, and families across Oklahoma. For children and families, CREOKS provides trauma-informed care, including specialized trauma treatment using the TF-CBT model, as well as Problematic Sexual Behavior family groups through the “Outside the Lines” program for youth ages 7–17 and their caregivers. Youth-focused services also include adolescent substance use prevention groups, individual substance use treatment, and Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP). For families with children at risk of out-of-home placement, involved in multiple systems, or diagnosed with a Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED) diagnosis, Wraparound services offer intensive care coordination and family-driven planning. CREOKS also provides Functional Family Therapy (FFT) and treatment to youth involved in the justice system when a substance use concern is also present in the home. CREOKS further delivers a robust array of school-based services, including individual and group therapy, Behavioral Health Coaching, and individual and group Psychiatric Rehabilitation, helping meet youth where they are in the least restrictive environment. For adults, specialty programming includes targeted services for veterans and the aging population, alongside comprehensive substance use treatment options such as outpatient care, IOP, and Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT). CREOKS also offers specialty services to justice-involved adults both in the jail setting and once individuals are on probation or parole. Across all programs, CREOKS emphasizes holistic, person-centered care that integrates mental health, substance use, and physical health needs to support long-term recovery and wellness.

General Internship Responsibilities:

Therapy Services

•       Individual and family therapy, psychodiagnostic assessment interviews, treatment planning, crisis management, and team-based case management

•       Therapy services will be with patients throughout the lifespan, commensurate with the intern’s training and experience.

•       Therapy services will be provided primarily through the CIRCARA Disordered Eating & Nutrition Services (https://creoks.org/disordered-eating/) program. This feature combines a unique, transdiagnostic training experience of working with a multi-disciplinary team of specialty service providers in eating disorders and nutritional rehabilitation, within the community behavioral health setting.

Psychological Testing/Assessment

•       Psychological Testing

•       Psychological Testing services will be provided for children and adolescents, ages 3-16 years, through the Psychological Services program (https://creoks.org/psychological-services/) at CREOKS Health Services.

Organizational Services

•       Consultation, Outreach, Training, & Program Development

•       Opportunities for provision of training, as well as collaboration with operations, primary care, and specialty teams will be provided, commensurate with the intern’s experience and their individualized, professional goals.
